• Rick Flair trashes Bret Hart on Live Audio Wrestling in Canada. Here is a snippet of what he said:

“He is a pissant in the history of wrestling. He has the nerve to compare himself to me. Let’s get realistic. If you put Bret Hart in your left hand and me in your right hand, compare the career…who is he? I wrestled everybody in the business, for an hour each night. Harley Race, Dory Funk, Jack and Jerry Brisco, who is Bret Hart? He is a legend in his own mind. He lives in his own little world…he screws his own family around. Who is Bret Hart? In my world he is a nobody!”

• Last, but not least. Bret Hart speaks on the current status with his relationship with Vince McMahon.

“It’s kind of live and let live,” Hart said. “I appreciated when they did the DVD thing with me. That meant a lot with me. I’ve always tried to be more positive than negative. We had a bad ending, but we certainly had some great years together. I’ll never forget those.”

• The Luchagors were interviewed recently by ChangeTheRecord.net. If you don’t know, The Luchagors is a band that former WWE Diva, Amy “Lita” Dumas is the lead singer for. She was asked if she would ever go back to wrestling and her response was:

“But, yeah, my priority is definitely not wrestling, and that’s not to say I don’t appreciate where I came from or that I don’t love the experiences that I had on the road or that I don’t love a lot of people on the roster, it’s just that it’s not where my head is, it’s not where my heart is right now.”

When asked about the 25-Diva-Battle Royal at Wrestlemania 25, Lita responded”

“Right, that’s why I turned it down. [laughs] I did watch it, though. I was dying laughing, I was in stitches, rolling on the couch, thinking, ‘Thank God, I’m not there, because that is nothing I need to be a part of.’”

• TNA has finally confirmed that they have signed Japanese and Mexican women’s wrestler Ayako Hamada to their knockout roster. Hamada is a second generation wrestler and has won many notable titles. • Rick Flair will be signing autographs at the Fans Edge Sports Spectacular at Richmond, IL this Saturday.

• Paul Heyman writes about “The True Story of Tommy’s Title Win“.

Paul Heyman reveals on his blog that Vince wanted to fire Tommy Dreamer when he aquired ECW.

“While many members of the creative team, like Ed Koskey and David Lagana, actually grew into wrestling fanatics cheering in the bleacher section of the ECW Arena during the 1990s, Vince McMahon just didn’t understand the character.

‘Paul,’ the Chairman of the entire industry would say, ‘what exactly IS a Tommy Dreamer? I don’t get it!’”

He goes on to explain to his readers the Dreamer character:

“I always explained to Tommy the inspiration for his character was Bruce Willis as John McClane in the John McTiernan movie Die Hard.

An ordinary man, pushed to extraordinary circumstances, who has no option left but to resort to extreme means just to survive.

The formula worked.

Dreamer became what is known as the flag waiver for ECW, defending the Extreme virtues against all comers.”

“After seven years, we’ve come a long way. We’ve overcome some tremendous obstacles, but have a long way to go,” Carter said.  “Until we are the biggest wrestling company in the world, we won’t be satisfied.  And then with that comes another set of challenges, but I look forward to those challenges one day.”

• MyFoxMemphis reports that Jerry “The King” Lawler might join the Mayoral race.

“In an interview on a local radio station morning show Monday, Lawler expressed interest in entering the race and plans to make an announcement this week.”

“Lawler placed third in the 1999 Memphis mayoral race behind Willie Herenton and Joe Ford, garnering 12% of the votes.”
