Notes: The final episode of WWE’s ECW started off with the Unified Tag Team Championship Match. The Miz and The Big Show are ECW alumni and made sense to have them on the final show. They faced fan favorite Yoshi Tatsu and Goldust. Yoshi got crushed by The Big Show. Goldust was pinned by The Miz. The strange duo had no chance against The Show-Miz.

Six cast members of NXT was revealed featuring three “Pros” and three “Rookies”. Chris Jericho will mentor Wade Barrett, Matt Hardy mentoring Justin Gabriel, and MVP mentoring Skip Sheffield.

The Abraham Washington made its last appearance on ECW. He plugged NXT for a short time while Tony Atlas chuckled his way through the monologue. Abraham Washington introduced himself as his own final guest and described himself as the biggest name in the company. Shelton Benjamin came out to burst Abraham’s bubble. Vance Archer followed along with Caylen Croft, Trent Baretta, and Vladimir Kozlov. A short fight broke out with Shelton Benjamin making friends with Kozlov.

Carlito is revealed to be a mentor to Michael Tarver.

The Miz is revealed to be a mentor to Daniel Bryan … aka Bryan Danielson. This is wrong on so many levels.

Christian will be mentoring Heath Slater.

Christian came out to make his final speech. He spoke about being proud of being apart of the brand and working with some of the younger talent like Yoshi Tatsu. He thanked the fans and said that he was glad to be the last ECW champion.

CM Punk is mentoring Darren Young.

Ezekiel Jackson (w/ William Regal)  came out to face Christian one last time for the ECW Championship. Rosa Mendes runs in to slap Christian around. Tiffany runs in and spears Rosa. Tiffany, in her absolute fierceness, kicked Rosa’s ass. I didn’t know Tiffany had it in her! The match continued under extreme rules. Trash cans, tables, and various inanimate objects were used throughout the match. It seemed Christian might have injured his left leg, but he continued the match. William Regal interfered, but Christian countered by almost putting on the kill switch. Ezekiel Jackson took advantage and put Christian through the table and went for the pin. Ezekiel Jackson became the last ECW Champion. Yeah, good luck with that Championship that will absolutely nothing from now on.

R-Truth is announced to be mentoring Jennifer Hudson’s fiance David Otunga.

I have mixed feelings about the end of WWE’s ECW. I’m mostly happy that this is ending. However, it was nice to have a programming that was simply wrestling every week. Let’s face it. WWE’s ECW was nothing like the original. It simply introduced new talent to the WWE. This brand introduced to us CM Punk and brought us the great tag team of Miz and Morrison. I am looking forward to “NXT”, because it is another outlet to introduce brand new talent.

Notes: Tiffany stood in the middle of the squared circle and spoke about the ECW Championship match that took place at TLC. She brought out Shelton Benjamin and ECW Champion Christian to acknowledge their efforts in a good match. Shelton acknowledged his own failure at attaining the ECW Championship, but requested a rematch. Tiffany was about to bestow Shelton his wish, when The Ruthless Roundtable interrupted her to inquire about “The Big Red Machine” Kane. William Regal seemed worried about Kane’s presence in ECW and expressed anger at Tiffany’s decision to bring him on. Tiffany explained that Kane is a part of a new segment in ECW. She called it the “ECW Homecoming”. Each week, former ECW stars will come back to face a present ECW star. The winners will be qualified to face Christian at the Royal Rumble. Tiffany announced that Kane will face Zack Ryder. William Regal didn’t seem to pleased about it. So, Tiffany announced that Ezekiel Jackson will be facing Vladimir Kozlov.

The Hurricane Helms defeated “The Ripper” (The wrestler formerly known as Paul Burchill) and unmasked him during the match. This match was so far from being entertaining. I’m over the feud between The Hurricane and Burchill. I feel that it has played its course and it is time to move on.

Maria was a guest on The Abraham Washington show and was teased a bit by Abraham Washington show over her embarrassing moment at the Slammy’s. Washington replayed the moment on the titantron with Batista interfering with Maria’s speech. He made fun of her a bit and then commented about how he got robbed at the Slammy’s for breakout star of the year. Maria questioned Washington’s logic by making a slight swipe at his show. A laughing Tony Atlas followed by saying that the show sucked. Maria and Washington went back forth verbally and my brain checked out half way out.

William Regal sided with Ezekiel Jackson in a match facing Vladimir Kozlov. Regal hooked Kozlov’s leg, causing him to fall on his face. Ezekial Jackson took advantage of the situation and went for the pin. Afterward, Kozlov seemed pretty pissed about being screwed over and attacked Regal. Ezekiel Jackson attacked Kozlov from behind and William Regal yelled at him.

Trent Baretta and Caylen Croft basically double teamed Julio Cruz and dominated over him over the entire match. This was an OK match. This was a typical squash the jobbers kind of match to put over Baretta and Croft.

The Kane/Ryder match was a rather good match. It was back and forth between Ryder and Kane. I was impressed with Ryder by the way he held his own in the ring. However, Ryder was choked slammed by Kane and lost the match. Rosa seemed devastated by the loss of her man.

Overall, this was a good episode of ECW. I wanted to watch wrasslin’ and that’s what I got.

Notes: Zack Ryder & Rosa Mendez were guests on the Abraham Washington show. Ryder read a poem he wrote to especially for Rosa in which he claimed that his new girlfriend was “Ryder approved”, because the “radio told him so”. Woo Woo Woo. Rosa read her poem to Zack Ryder and half of it was in Spanish. Afterward, Ryder was so overcome with emotion that he began jumping on the couch like Tom Cruise. This segment was so bad…it was funny.

Goldust defeated William Regal in a good match up that ended up adding more tension to The Ruthless Rountable. To be honest with you, I have no opinion of this. I could care less about Ezekiel Jackson and Vladimir Kozlov.

Borette and Croft debuted this week on ECW. Many of my twitter followers have suggested that they are like another version of The Rockers. To be honest with you, I don’t see the resemblance. I like them, but their theme music is terrible.

Jackson turned his back on The Roundtable which topped off the night and led to a win for Christian and Shelton Benjamin. During the match, Kozlov and Jackson worked on Christian for a while. Christian made a hot tag to Shelton Benjamin and Ezekiel Jackson just up and left the ring for Kozlov to fend for himself.

This was a good episode of ECW. I enjoyed Goldust vs. Regal and the main event match very much. I’m glad that Shelton Benjamin is getting a push after being lost in the shuffle for a few years. I’m looking forward to the TLC match in two weeks.

Notes: Abraham Washington and the laughing Tony Atlas kicked off ECW in Sheffield, England. The crowd wasn’t exactly warm to Washington’s humor and at one point the camera cut to a child with a mohawk giving him the thumbs down. Abraham Washington commented on their National Health Service by saying that the Brits have universal health care, but don’t use it to fix their teeth. Oh Abraham! Yoshi Tatsu was his guest for tonight. The interview began with the two thanking each other to no end and Tony Atlas laughing uncontrollably. Washington had to take control of the situation and told Atlas to shut up. Afterward, Tatsu and Washington went back and forth with some funny verbal insults. Tatsu called Washington a bootleg Chris Tucker (pretty funny!). Yoshi Tatsu and Abraham Washington had good chemistry together. I hate to say this, but they are the Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan of ECW. I can imagine some funny promos with those two.

The Hurricane Helms interfered in Paul Burchill’s match and allowed Goldust to take the win. Well, Helms didn’t do much except stand there and distract Burchill. I guess Paul Burchill suffers from a short attention span, much like Zack Ryder.

Speaking of Zack Ryder…he was backstage in his gear, preparing for a match that he wasn’t going to have. Rosa Mendez walked by and Ryder was once again stunned by her beauty. He complimented her on her MC skills last week which means that he really wanted to get into her pants. Ryder went on to say that he couldn’t take his eyes off of Rosa last week in his match and offered her to accompany him to the ring as a valet. Rosa said maybe. Enter another Ryder dream sequence where is rubbing noses with Rosa. Ahhh!!! Puppy love!

Vance Archer defeated a local jobber in a few minutes. I think he is an interesting guy and I am interested in seeing more of him. I’m not feeling his tatoos though.

Christian retained his ECW title in a 20 minute match against William Regal. This match gave ECW a good boost, because it was very entertaining and it took up much of the show.

The biggest difference between ECW and Smackdown/Raw is that it is wrestling driven. Obviously, it is a one hour show and there isn’t a lot of time to build up story line. I do think this hour was spent very wisely. This was a good episode that made me laugh a little bit.

Notes: Christian kicked off ECW by demanding a one on one match with William Regal. He expressed urgency in facing Regal and said that he would go after him. Christian was on his way out of the ring when Tiffany’s hideous theme song hit. Tiffany felt responsible for Regal’s attack on Christian last week, but refused to grant Christian his match. Again, Christian expressed the urgency for such a match. William Regal came out with the Ruthless Roundtable behind him. He refused the match, but said that he would face Christian next week in England. I’m not so sure what to say about this opening promo. Christian expressed his anger very well and Regal is always good on the mic. However, I feel like this promo fell flat. It seemed too scripted. Of course, every promo is scripted. The thing about this promo was that nothing that was said felt genuine.

Zack Ryder fantasized about ECW’s newest Diva, Rosa Mendez. He encountered the Diva backstage talking up a storm. It appeared he wasn’t listening to her, but was thinking about….her assets? He seemed very impressed with the new diva.

Rosa played ring announcer for the Ryder/Benjamin match and was terrible at it. She started off talking about herself and curling her hair with her finger. Besides her self-centered personality, Rosa could not speak well. There were some words I could not make out. During the match, Rosa took a seat ringside. Ryder was distracted by the beauty of Rosa, who spent the match applying lip gloss. Shelton took Ryder from behind and gained the advantage by pinning Ryder. I guess in this match we learned that Zack Ryder has a short attention span and Rosa Mendez really likes lip gloss.

The main event was very entertaining. I think that this match stuck out of the show by the way the fans responded. The fans went crazy as Christian put the kill switch engage on Kozlov. As Christian celebrated his win, Regal crept up behind Christian to attack. Christian and Regal got into a mean fight that resulted with the ECW champion lying on the floor with the Ruthless Roundtable standing over him.

This episode of ECW was mostly blah. There is nothing more to say about it.
