Notes: WWE Monday Night Raw (in case you’ve forgotten which show you were watching) kicked off with boxer Ricky Hatton entering the ring with Edge’s t-shirt. This week Raw was playing to a sold out crowd in Sheffield, England. I could make out what Hatton was saying somewhat. I guessing he was happy to be hosting WWE Raw. Chris Jericho and The Big Show came out to intimidate the new guest host. Chris Jericho touched on some topics concerning the British people like their cuisine and their dental hygiene. Hatton was prepared to sock The Big Show in the face, but was not successful. Chris Jericho got in between the two and told The Big Show that he shouldn’t be embarrassed by being socked by a boxer again. Things got heated between the United Tag Team champions, until DX came out to further humiliate them. Hatton announced that DX would face Jeri-Show, but Shawn Michaels insisted that the match take place then and there. Jeri-Show declined and backed off. This was a poor opening segment of WWE Monday Night Raw.

Alicia Fox defeated Kelly Kelly in a wrestling match. The most unfortunate thing about it was that Gail Kim and Jillian Hall were accompanying these ladies to the ring. Huh? Shouldn’t it be the other way around.

It seems that Sheamus is getting a big push. He faced a local jobber and demolished him. I wonder who creative will set Sheamus up against when he faces someone from the midcard.

MVP and Mark Henry invited Kofi Kingston to the VIP lounge. They announced that Kofi would be the captain of their survivor series team. Wow. Kofi Kingston is getting a real push! MVP and Mark Henry congratulated Kofi on standing up to Orton and letting him know not to push the Raw roster around. Randy Orton along with Legacy came out to start a race war with the VIP Lounge winners. Randy Orton called MVP a common criminal and Ted DiBiase Jr. touted his bank account. Orton said that they were born into this business and that this is where they belong. He suggested that VIP lounge members go back to the hood. Race War!!!

D-Generation X defeated Jeri-Show. Any surprise there? John Cena joined commentary and was horrible at it. Cena kept talking about hoping that the old HBK would come back at Survivor Series. They tried hyping the triple threat match at Survivor Series and every man for himself. That got me thinking that Triple h would turn heel, again.

Oh WWE Monday Night Raw, I’m just not that into you anymore. What happened? You were edgy and cool. Now, you’re just pandering to the kids and trying to get the media’s attention. You’re just not satisfying my needs anymore. Sadly, I think we might have to break it off if this keeps going on.

Notes: Ben Ro….whatever his name is….came out as the guest host of WWE Monday Night Raw. He came out to some boos and to some cheers, because apparently he belongs to a team that some people don’t like very much. Of Course, I would have no idea because I’m a football fan. Ben Ro…whatever his name is…announced a Diva Bowl match with divas from all brands competing. The divas came running in to perform with Gail Kim as referee. Mickie James’s team won, but I couldn’t count the amount of divas in the match because there were so many.

Randy Orton quickly ran the divas out of the ring. He spoke of beating John Cena in Hell in a Cell. As soon as he spoke his name, John Cena came in to congratulate Orton. Cena proposed that this rivalry has gone on for too long (I agree) and that they needed to have one last match. He proposes an iron man match. The crowd cheers. Orton snaps back by saying that he isn’t stupid and that if he loses the title to Cena, he won’t be able to have a rematch. If Orton is to take part in an iron man match with Cena, it will be on his terms. Orton proposes that if Cena wins, it will be their last, and if Orton wins, Cena must leave WWE Raw. Orton added that this iron man match was no disqualification. I am seriously hoping that Cena loses….I really hope so.

Santino got involved with a little bit of the diva bickering going on backstage. He was dressed as a football referee and spoke with an echo. He demanded that Mickie and Alicia Fox kiss and make up …literally. Instead, Alicia slapped Mickie and another diva brawl broke out. This was a funny segment, because Santino makes it worth watching Raw.

So now I guess Chavo Guerrero and Hornswoggle are friends now?! They made up today and I hope that it means that this rivalry is over.

Jeri-Show walked in on Ben’s (that NFL promo) to make fun of him. Then Ben called out his team mates to intimidate Jeri-Show. Well, D-Generation X got involved and it seems that they have moved on from Legacy, because they Challenged Jeri-Show for the Unified Tag Team Championship. Jeri-Show backed off, but then Big Ben announced that they would be facing DX later on in the night and then told them to suck it. The segment ended with DX and the football players doing crotch chops.

A title changed hands tonight as The Miz became the new United States Champion. The Miz/Kingston match was very good and the highlight of this episode of WWE Raw.

The main event was D-Generation X vs. Jeri-Show. The match started off with Triple H facing off against Chris Jericho. The crowd was chanting, “Triple H”. However, the match was mostly spent torturing Shawn Michaels. Why does Shawn always get to be the one to be tortured? Jericho put the walls of Jericho on HBK for a few minutes. Michaels came very close to tagging his partner, but was unsuccessful. Triple H had to attack Jericho from behind to end the walls of Jericho. Jeri-Show and  DX went at it. The Big Show pulled a double suplex with both DX members. Eventually,  DX isolated Chris Jericho. After he realized his situation, Jericho walked out on the match. Then Ben and his friends came out with DX t-shirts to block Jericho. DX came up behind Jericho. Shawn Michaels gave him the sweet chin music and Triple H went for the pin.

This was an OK episode of WWE Raw. However, I am getting sick of the guest host gimmick. Please, no more!!!!

Notes: WWE Monday Night Raw opened with the MVP lounge. MVP was joined by his tag team partner, Mark Herny. They tried to introduce guest host, Rev. Al Sharpton, but Chris Jericho and The Big Show interrupted. The two tag teams were out-introducing each other. Rev. Al Sharpton came down into introduce in tour for education reform…which was corny. I agree. We need education reform, but keep it out of my wrestling. Rev. Al and MVP were trying to explain education reform to the audience, who were booing Mr. Sharpton. I hated the opening. Chris Jericho and The Big Show saved the segment. Also, I do believe that this is the first time that Chris Jericho and The Big Show were called Jeri-Show on television. I think it’s great that they are keeping up with the internet lingo.

Rev. Al Sharpton announced a tag team championship match. Chris Jericho tried to dominate over Mark Henry at one time with the sleeper hold, but it unfortunately did not work out for him. MVP was very close to pinning Chris Jericho, but The Big Show interfered by hitting him in the back with the referee looking the other way. This match lasted 20 minutes long and it was a very good opening match.

The divas match was full of botches. I wish I could say it was Rosa, but Mickie James wasn’t very good in this match. What’s going on Mickie?

Legacy came out to hype their Hell in a Cell match. Their promo went on and on until Shawn Michaels cut them off unexpectedly. D-Generation X was seen speaking from a top of the arena. They compared themselves to Bruce Banner and the Incredible Hulk. They make fun of Legacy, but when they are provoked, the monster in them comes out. Unlike Bruce Banner, DX enjoys when the monster comes out. The DX theme song kicked on and they journey down through the crowd towards their opponents. Legacy ran out of the ring and into the crowd to hide from DX. Then, Triple H delivered a message to Legacy. Triple H told Legacy to enjoy the distance between them, because there will be no where to run this Sunday in Hell in a Cell. Great Promo.

Jack Swagger defeated Evan Bourne with a powerful power bomb. After the match, Swagger hyped himself and said it would be only a matter of time before he won the belt on Sunday. The Miz interrupted Swagger to say how awesome he is. A brawl broke out and Kofi Kingston ran into the ring to retrieve his belt. This segment was a little short, but entertaining.

I thought that the Hornswoggle and Chavo feud had ended. Unfortunately, I was wrong. Chavo partnered up with Chris Masters to defeat Hornswoggle and Santino Marella. Chris Masters put his masterlock on Santino and then on Hornswoggle. Chavo watched as his partner was chocking the life out of his opponent. Something came over Chavo, because he looked concerned for Hornswoggle. Chavo walked over to Chris Masters and hit him to break Hornswoggle out of the masterlock. All I have to say is, I’m confused. Really confused.

Raw ended on a high note with John Cena competing in a gaunlet match against The Big Show, Chris Jerico, and Randy Orton. Jeri-Show didn’t care too much for winning, because they decided to get disqualified and beat the hell out of Cena. Randy Orton walked in at the end thinking that he would be victorious. However, the Hell in a Cell lowered and John Cena had the upper hand. Cena chased after Orton to the top of the cell. Cena beat Orton until he was lying unconscious at the top of the ring.

This was a bad episode of WWE Monday Night Raw. Please Vince McMahon, end this guest host gimmick. Please!

Notes: Cedric The Entertainer rolled up in a limo and he stepped out with the Bella twins on each arm. Following out was a lineup of interesting characters including a farmer and his goat. What is a goat doing in a limo? I have no idea.

D-Generation X came out to toot their Hell in the Cell experience horn. They explained that Shawn Michaels competed in the first ever Hell in a Cell and Triple H won five times. On the other hand, Legacy has yet experience what it is like to be in a hell in a cell. During the singles match, Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes ganged up on Shawn Michaels ringside until he passed out. Rhodes went into the ring with Triple H about to pedigree him. DiBiase, with steel chair in hand, slid into the ring and hit Triple H with a chair shot from behind. They double teamed Triple H. Then Shawn Michaels woke up in time to take a sledge hammer from the bottom of the ring and scare of Legacy. This was a great match and a good way to put over Legacy.

Cedric The Entertainer came out to a screaming audience to tell some corny jokes. He joked that Mark Henry of the offspring of the Kool Aid guy which I thought was mildly funny. Santino interupted Cedric to confess that he wants to be comedian. He told some jokes of his own and the crowd booed in response. Cedric said that maybe stand up comedy isn’t is calling, but Santino should stick to wrestling. Santino plugged Cedric’s DVD…whatever it was. Chavo Guerrero decided to chime in with his own complaint. He didn’t like wrestling Hornswoggle in the last couple of weeks and he blamed it on the Raw guest hosts. Cedric made fun of Chavo, saying that he gets beaten by a leprechaun every week. Chavo didn’t like it much, so he challenged Cedric to a match. Cedric tried to avoid it and looked scared. Instead, Santino accepted on Cedric’s behalf. This segment was boring! It went on too long and it was obvious that Cedric was making use of Abraham Washington’s joke writers.

The Miz saved the day with a good promo. He stood with the United States Championship on his shoulders as Josh Matthews interviewed him. Matthews asked The Miz why he has Kofi’s US Title. The Miz responded that that the US title belong to Kofi, but he was going to win it anyway. He argued that the person who holds the United States Championship should actually be from the US and not coming off a raft with a Bob Marley CD. Ouch! Then, Kofi attacked The Miz from behind and took his title back. A great promo and a build-up to their rivalry.

John Cena and Randy Orton came together for a contract signing. Everyone knows that these contract signings never end well. Anyway, Randy had a few words to say to Cena. Orton said he had experience in the Hell in a Cell match. Cena didn’t care much for what Orton had to say. He claimed that the most important words that came out of Orton’s mouth was “I Quit”. He replayed the footage at Breaking Point and said that he would just try his best at Hell in a cell, but he would destroy Orton. Well due to a no physicality rule during the signing, Orton could not attack Cena. Instead, he got Chris Jericho and The Big Show to do the dirty work for him. Jeri-Show double teamed John Cena, but the team of Mark Henry and MVP ran in to save him. Cedric The Entertainer announced that there would be a six-man tag match between these men later on tonight.

Kofi Kingston wrestled Jack Swagger, until The Miz decided to get involved. He ran in to steal the US title once more. As The Miz was about to walk away, Jack Swagger came up behind him to attack and take the title away. Swagger walked away with the United States Championship without winning it. Kofi Kingston woke up from his unconscious state looking really confused. This rivalry is really heating up.

Cedric The Entertainer defeated Chavo Guerrero with the interference by a big black dude and Hornswoggle. *Sigh*

Lilian Garcia had a heartfelt goodbye to the WWE. She teared up a bit as she said goodbye to the WWE and the fans. Goodbye and good luck Lilian!

Chris Jericho & The Big Show went to Cedric The Entertainer to propose a match for next week. If Chris Jericho, The Big Show & Randy Orton lost, then Orton would face a gaunlet match against Cena, MVP, & Mark Henry. If they won, then Cena would face a gaunlet match against Jeri-Show and Randy Orton. At the time, Orton did not seemed pleased. However, his tune changed when he pinned Mark Henry. The show ended with a shot of John Cena with a worried look on his face.

The show was good. It could have been better without Cedric The Entertainer. He hasn’t entertained me since…never.

Notes: All through the opening segment of Raw, I kept hoping that Bob Barker wouldn’t drop dead. However, the segment wasn’t as painful as I thought it would be. Howard Finkel called down four WWE Superstars to play “The Price is Raw”. The contestants were Santino Marella, Jillian Hall, Irwin R. Schyster, and Chris Jericho. They had to guess the price of “The Best of Smackdown” DVD in which Rosa Mendez brought out. Santino asked Bob Barker if he could buy a vowel, which was funny. Jillian Hall guessed $75 and I.R.S. guessed $50 on the DVD. Chris Jericho was less than cooperative. I frowned throughout the skit and gave a “what the hell am I doing here” look. Bob Barker fought with Jericho, until he gave him a $1 default bid. Well, Jericho eventually won the segment and qualified for a trip to Hawaii. First, he had to beat MVP.

Unfortunately for Chris Jericho, there won’t be a trip to Hawaii due to his loss to MVP.

D-Generation X did a segment with Bob Barker and Kelly Kelly. They briefly mentioned his “Happy Gilmore” appearance and touted themselves as big fans. They got to spin a faux big wheel…well it was really a button and a television screen.

We got to see a decent Chavo/Evan Bourne match. Thank goodness for it. However, the sweetness was cut short with Hornswoggle coming into the ring with a super soaker water gun. He distracted Chavo enough for Evan Bourne to grab him for the pin. The WWE needs to let go of this Chavo/Horswoggle feud.

Cody Rhodes came out to explain his inaction in protecting his father, Dusty Rhodes. He said that he loved his father, but he loved his career more. Ouch! Anyway, John Cena defeated Cody Rhodes. No surprise there. The crowd was pretty hot for Cena, because they kept chanting his name.

They did another “The Price is Raw” segment. Chicago White Sox catcher AJ Pierzynski (and former TNA wrestler) was the next contestant and bid $1000 on a package to WrestleMania 26. Santino bid correctly with $1200. Unfortunately for him, he faced a body slam contest with The Big Show. He lost and Mark Henry took his place for another Body Slam contest. The WWE did their best to hype MVP & Mark Henry as a tag team. Henry picked up The Big Show for a body slam and in the process won a hot tub (minus the Bella Twins).

The biggest low point of this episode was watching Chavo Guerrero getting his ass handed to him by Bob Barker. Chavo Guerrero is officially buried.

D-Generation X defeated Chris Masters & Randy Orton in good main event. Things got even more heated after the match when Legacy ran in and got into the mix. The brawl went backstage and outside arena. Meanwhile, John Cena ran into attack Randy Orton. Instead, he got his ass handed to him. Watching Orton destroy Cena was enjoyable. He could easily play a serial killer in a movie. Randy Orton is the top heel in his facial expressions, the way he moves, and the way he speaks. Raw topped off on a high point.

Overall, this episode was so-so. Bob Barker was a good guest host because he has had 35 years of television experience. However, the WWE needs to get rid of this guest host gimmick. I’m getting tired of it. Raw is supposed to be the flag-ship show. It is unfortunate that it continues to get worse and worse every week.

Notes: At the top of the show, Randy Orton addressed the issue of the fan run-in from last night’s PPV. It turns out that the fan was Ted DiBiase’s little brother, Brett, was the run-in “fan”. Orton claimed that he did not advise Brett to get involved. Ted explained that Brett bought a ticket and was in attendance to see his brother wrestle. Brett apologized to Randy. Cody Rhodes interjected and said that Randy would have won anyway.

DX began WWE Raw with a funny segment. They were in the middle of the ring with Vince McMahon and making fun of his age. By the way, Happy Birthday Vince McMahon! Anyway, they put together a video package in tribute to him which was mildly entertaining. Afterward, the segment was slowly going down hill. They had show girls, two guys with springs under their feet, and Elvis hop into the ring to wish Vince Happy Birthday! It was terrible! The segment took about 25 minutes out of the show until Legacy with Orton ran in to interrupt the festivities.

The Miz/Santino & Divas match was OK. The Miz once again stated that he was AWESOME!

Floyd “Money” Mayweather walked into Monday Night Raw with his entourage. He was a little late, but he was able to confront The Big Show and Chris Jericho. They spoke of their Wrestlemania ’bout. Show wanted part two, but Mayweather refused citing a match he will having next month. MVP came out and challenged Jeri-Show to a match. Mayweather allowed for the match to happen under the condition that MVP find a partner. Mark Henry came out to MVP’s side as a tag partner. All I have to say is…what happened to Cryme Tyme? Are they really done? After Jeri-Show worked hard to make them look good? Their absence really disappointed me.

I’m hoping that this week is the last week of the Chavo/Hornswoggle feud. I have reason to hope since Evan Bourne ran-in to save Hornswoggle. This isn’t the best use of Bourne, but I’m happy that Chavo can feud with someone other than Hornswoggle.

Raw finished off with DX & Vince McMahon facing off against Randy Orton & Legacy. The crowd was going crazy, but I wasn’t having it at home. Vince McMahon pinned Randy Orton, which made me sad. I hated watching this match. On top of that, Cena ran in during the match to get revenge on Orton.

This show was a step down from last night’s great PPV. I’m looking forward to Smackdown.
