New York Street Fight
Team 3D & Jesse Neal vs. Syxx Pac, Scott Hall & Kevin Nash

Team 3D and Jesse Neal dominate over “The Band” at the beginning of the match. Neal hits Syxx Pac over the head with a trash can and then grabs a kendo stick to attack Pac with. Brother Devon takes on Scott Hall and Brother Ray takes on Kevin Nash as the crowd chants “tables, tables!” One thing I have to say about Scott Hall in this match. Why is he in sweats? Did he get his wrestling attire from Mick Foley? I’m thinking he could be dressing a little better. Anyway… Syxx Pac is laid out on the table Team 3D has set up. Bubba “The Love Sponge” comes running down the ramp to distract Brother Ray. Syxx Pac climbs up from the table and on to Brother Ray. Brother Ray ends up top of the broken table and Syxx Pac pinning him for the win. After the match, Syxx Pac humps Ray’s face. I would have an opinion on this match if I actually cared.

Eric Young runs down the ramp with a kendo stick. “The Band” runs out the ring. Eric Young challenges Kevin Nash to a cage match at Lockdown.

Shannon Moore vs. Kazarian

This match was pretty much equal. Shannon Moore was looking pretty good in this match. Doug Williams comes down the ramp to join the commentary table with Taz and Mike Tenay. Williams made a few funny comments about Moore and Kazarian’s use of high flying moves.  Shannon Moore flew off the top rope onto Kazarian who was standing ringside. the jump was pretty impressive. In the end, the match concludes in a time limit draw. Williams grabs a mic and rips the two performers. He said that the two were pathetic and that he was going to wipe them out come Lockdown.

I Quit Match
Angelina Love vs. Velvet Sky

Velvet Sky turned the Leather and Lace match into a “handcuff Angelina Love I Quit Match”. Velvet Sky beat the crap out of Angelina Love and kept asking her if she would just give up. Love screamed “No!” each time. Tara runs out to save her tag team partner and releases her from her handcuff’s. Love goes to offer her hand in friendship to Tara. A moment goes by before Tara walks away from Love.

TNA Tag Team Championship
The Motor City Machine Guns vs. Matt Morgan (c) & Amazing Red (c)

The start of the match seemed to be in favor of Morgan and Red as Morgan threw Sabin and Shelley off the top rope. The Motor City Machine Guns were pretty much squashed in this match. Reg hit the code red on Chris Sabin and scored a win for the team. Matt Morgan didn’t like that Red had taken the win. It hurt his ego a little bit. Then, Morgan decided to do away with another tag team partner and put the carbon footprint to Red’s face. Maybe Morgan should be his own tag team partner?

Robert Roode vs. Jeff Hardy

Jeff Hardy took some punishment from Robert Roode as he was thrown into the steel steps. Roode led Hardy back into the ring for a bombs away knee drop from the top rope. Another knee drop to Hardy’s neck. He puts Hardy into a sleeper hold. Hardy hits Roode int he face and kicks him in the face. Hardy comes back. A few cloths lines and then a front suplex. He almost makes the twist of fate, but Roode counters. Hardy comes back again with a stunner. Hardy prepares for the swanton. James Storm tries to interfere. Hardy does the swanton and pins Roode for the win. James Storm attacks Hardy while drinking a beer, after the match. He spits fire into Hardy’s face. RVD runs in to save his partner. Roode attacks RVD from behind and Beer Money, Inc. stands victorious against their rivals. This was a good match, but I guess I am a bias towards Jeff Hardy.

“The Pope” D’Angelo Dinero & “Black Machismo” Jay Lethal vs. AJ Styles (c) (w/Ric Flair) & Desmond Wolfe

Abyss and Lethal are out. Hogan evens the score by taking out Wolfe from behind with a steel chair. The match turns into a one on one with Dinero facing Styles. The match didn’t last very long when Flair gets out of his wheel chair and and hits “The Pope” from behind with the world title. The match is disqualified. Team Flair comes down the ramp to beat up “The Pope” and throw him over the top rope. Hogan shows up and stands around to stare down Team Flair.

Overall, this episode was a bit … blah. Yes. I said it. It had its good moments. It was somewhat entertaining. However, I would have loved to have seen “The Pope” D’Angelo Dinero & “Black Machismo” Jay Lethal face AJ Styles & Desmond Wolfe. I felt that TNA fans were cheated out of a good main event.

Notes: The Pope is pimpin’! D’Angelo Dinero came out ballin’ to the center of the four corner ring to address the crowd about his win at “Against All Odds”. He spoke about going all the way to becoming the new World Heavyweight Champion. He said that AJ would have be as good as “The Pope”. He made fun of Ric Flair by calling him Dick Flair. Both Flair and AJ Styles came out with a bunch of their bitches. (Hey! Where are “The Pope’s” bitches at?) Rick Flair asked Dinero if her knew how to read or write. He opened his jacket for Dinero to read “Armani” and unless “The Pope” was Jordan or Tiger Woods, he couldn’t tell him nothing. “The Pope” didn’t seem to care about Flair’s Armani suit and called him a piece of crap. AJ gets on the mic all fired up and tells Dinero that he has still to see with him with a woman. AJ and Dinero get into a brawl. Flair goes behind Dinero to pin him down as Styles puts him into the figure four.

Daffney went ape shit in her match against Tara. She threw almost every inanimate object around the ring at the former WWE Diva. Tara ended up under one of the barricades, being hit with a steel chair. Dr. Stevie came out to tame his little patient.

Orlando Jordan came out wearing a bad looking robe, bad hair, and with two supporters (one woman, one man). I guess that Orlando Jordan has this new “I’m a bisexual” gimmick. That should be good since Jordan has nothing else going for him.

Kazarian came out without his Suicide gimmick. He teamed up with Amazing Red and Generation ME (I hate that name). Kazarian came out on top in the end when he pinned Doug Williams.

Abyss, as a scared little monster, came into the ring unready to fight Jeff Jarrett. Eric Bischoff gave Jarrett a barbed wired bat to use on Abyss. It was a good thing for Abyss that Jarrett didn’t use the bat out of the kindness of his heart. Afterward, Bischoff came into the ring to scold Abyss and to unmask him. Hulk Hogan came into save the day. He asked Abyss to get his ass into his office and scolded Bischoff.

Backstage, Hulk Hogan asked Abyss to stop being such a pussy foot and start being a monster. Yes! Thank you Hulk Hogan. That is just what we need. Hogan gave Abyss his Hall of Fame ring to give him a boost of confidence. Well, I’m sure Vince won’t like that very much.

Kurt Angle defeated Daniels in a very short amount of time with the ankle lock. After the match, Kurt Angle shed a few tears over the troubles that he has encountered the past year. He described a dog tag that was given to him by a soldier who said that he believed in him. Mr. Anderson had used that tag to make him bleed and in consequence made America bleed. Mr. Anderson spat on that tag and as a result spat on America. The iMPACT! zone filled with boos. Mr. Anderson came out to counter with a brillant promo. He made fun of Angle’s tears and said that he liked to make Angle bleed. He kicks Angle and welcomes him to Total Non-stop Angle.

Kevin Nash, with Eric Young, to settle this Waltman and Hall situation. Nash calls out Sean Waltman and Scott Hall. A brawl ensues with Nash fighting Hall and Young fighting Waltman. Hulk Hogan walks out to the ramp to look at the situation in the ring.

So this episode of iMPACT! had some good points. I enjoyed the opening promo featuring “The Pope” D’Angelo Dinero. I enjoyed Mr. Anderson’s promo near the end of the episode, also. The Nash/Waltman/Hall/Hogan situation is confusing and tiring.

Notes: Kevin Nash was in charge of the iMPACT! zone after giving Mick Foley a meeting with Hulk Hogan he so desired. Kevin Nash and Eric Young came out into the iMPACT! zone to announce the matches for the night. Nash and Young seemed to enjoy their position of power and their time in the ring was short and to the point.

Cut to a vignette featuring Mick Foley in the Nashville offices of TNA iMPACT! looking for Dixie Carter. He runs into a guy working in TNA who was close to Jeff Jarrett. He says that Mick can look for Jarrett at a place called Meat for 3. The Foley-Jarrett Summit is to be continued…

Chris Sabin defended himself against all three members of The British Invasion. Sabin held his own as he tornadoed and pulled a roll up pin on Rob Terry. The British Invasion seemed disappointed and embarrassed by their loss.

Bobby Lashley did most of the work during the inter-gender match against Scott Steiner and Awesome Kong. He tried to dominate over Steiner as Kong looked ant-sy in the corner. Steiner was able to get Bobby out of the way and went after Mrs. Lashley. He cornered her into the power of Awesome Kong, who crushed her unconscious and went to the top rope to finish her. Scott Steiner gets a little greedy and covers Krystal by going on top of her in a sexual manner and goes for the pin.

Eric Young defeated Hamada in a good match for the Global Championship. Hamada held her own a gained support from the TNA crowd. She delivered a spinning heel kick to Eric Young, leaving him dazed. They take the fight on the outside of the ring. Young fought back, but Hamada countered with a leaping kick. She goes for a moonsault, but however Eric Young takes advantage and pins her with his feet on the ropes.

Mick Foley gets lost and visits a place on the side of a highway. Foley stumbles upon Jarrett by accident…dom..dom…dom..to be continued…

Tara and ODB fought drunk and looking like their going to puke any minute. ODB made good use of a small two step ladder by making a small Hornswoggle-like frog splash. She pins Tara, but Tara kicks out by two. ODB dominates and chokes Tara with a tiki torch…where did that come from? Tara counters, by flipping ODB. They both grab a trash can and start wacking away. Eventually, ODB grabs a chain and chokes Tara out with it and then a facebuster. ODB wins a entertaining match.

Back to Mick Foley/ Jeff Jarret summit. Foley sits down with Jarrett and asks him to come back to TNA. Jarrett mentioned that he had gone through hell in the past five months and won’t go back because of Dixie…to be continued…

Velvet Sky defeated Lacey Von Erich in a mud wrestling match I didn’t care much for.

AJ Styles defended his title against Desmond Wolfe who was the highest bidder for the challenger role. The match was practically nothing. It lasted about five minutes and I would have preferred to see these two performers wrestle a bit longer. Daniels got into the mix by distracting Wolfe. AJ takes advantage by rolling up Desmond and pinning him with a bridge to three.

TNA iMPACT! ends with Jeff Jarrett agreeing to come back next week and meet with Dixie Carter. Jarrett and Foley shake hands and the segment ends.

This episode of iMPACT! was OK. The search for Jarrett was a bit Stone Cold-esque, but I liked it. I enjoyed watching Tara vs. ODB and I think it was the highlight of iMPACT!

Notes: Desmond Wolfe stood in the middle of the six sides of steel to taunt Kurt Angle. He said that beating some one meant torturing a person physically and mentally that is what he did to Kurt last week when he spat in his face. Desmond claimed that he kept Angle from the title, as well. At Final Resolution, Desmond declared himself the victor of the six sides of steel match. Kurt Angle comes out in his wrestling gear ready to fight Desmond. He tries to break through into the cage, but it is locked. Once Angle gets in, he and Desmond go on a back and forth. Desmond reaches for his brass knuckles and dominates Angle. Desmond Wolfe’s promo was great. He spoke really well and this segment established him as a dominant heel in TNA. I am really enjoying the Wolfe/Angle feud and it is probably the best feud going on in TNA today.

Before the opening match, the referee kicked out The British Invasion and Chris Sabin from ringside to prevent them from interfering. It seemed that the referee’s decision ruled in Alex Shelley’s favor. He won over Doug Williams with the slice bread #2. Great match.

Jeremy Borash and Mick Foley filmed a few promos obsessing over Hulk Hogan’s debut…I mean Foley obsessing over Hogan. Is this the best that TNA can do to hype up Hogan? D’Lo Brown appeared to answer some of Foley’s inquiries. D’Lo Brown apparently is a trainer for the young guys and said that Hogan was on level. What is that suppose to mean? At least it was good to see D’Lo Brown on television again.

Suicide defeated Homicide with a backslide. Homicide was not pleased with his loss and took it out on his opponent after the match. He attempted to rip off Suicide’s mask in which he was successful in showing half of his face. “The Pope” D’Angelo Dinero got involved to protect Suicide and fend off Homicide. Dinero offers his hand in friendship, but Suicide leaved the ring skeptical.

Trash Talk w/ ODB turned into shoot time with Tara. The #1 Knockout Championship contender extended her hand in respect to ODB and said that she was looking forward to facing her at Final Resolution. ODB told her to cut the crap and be a straight shooter. She complained that since Tara was a WWE Diva, she could just waltz right in and be the top gal. ODB said that the Knockouts have been building this division for seven years. Tara replied that she broke her contract with the WWE so she could be a knockout. She was sick of being a joke and a trainer to all those blond bimbos. Ouch! ODB got up and said she was sorry in a mocking way. ODB slaps Tara in the face and they go into a brawl.

Jesse Neal wasn’t so impressive in his match against “The Pope” D’Angelo Dinero. The street preacher defeated the young mohawk man in two minutes. Neal was so upset over it, he attacked Dinero after the match. Suicide came out to help Dinero and offered him his hand in solidarity. The Team 3D decided to get involved and slid into the ring to interrupt the new partnership. Matt Morgan and Hernandez came in afterward and stood tall in the middle of the ring with their newly assembled group.

Eric Young gains a win over Roode after giving him the piledriver with the help of Nash who helped to distract the ref from the match. Mick Foley came out after the match and asked about Hogan. Nash joked with Mick and teased him by saying that Hogan wasn’t coming alone. Arrgggghhhh! Enough already!

Cristal accompanied her husband, Bobby Lashley to the ring. She also spoke for him which was good. Oh! She also made some facial expressions as well which was good. Cristal directed her message to Steiner. She said that he was sick, delusional, and obsessed. All she wanted to do was to support her husband and not to be harassed by some sick weirdo. She said that that would never happen at any of her husband’s MMA matches. Cristal ended her promo by saying that she may bark, but her husband will take a big bite out of him for lunch. Great promo. More Cristal and less of Bobby Lashley attempting emotion.

Daniels had the upper hand in his match against Abyss. Earlier he requested the help of The Beautiful People to harass Lauren. The video appeared on the titan tron and caught the attention of Abyss. Daniels took advantage of Abyss loss of focus and gave him the low blow. Daniels rolled up Abyss and won the match. Afterward, Daniels tried to get attention by provoking AJ Styles who was sitting at the commentary booth. AJ got up to face Daniels when he was attacked from behind by a guy dressed like a ninja.

Dr. Stevie and Raven got Kurt Angle into a corner. The dominated for awhile until Kurt came back with the German suplexes. Dr. Stevie is clotheslined out of the ring and seemed ready to leave. On the way out, Abyss met him for a beat down. Raven is distracted by the scene and is rolled up for the ankle lock. He taps out immediately. Kurt Angle celebrates shortly when Desmond Wolfe attacks him fro behind.

Notes: This episode of iMPACT! was wrestling match after wrestling match. iMPACT! began with two qualifying matches for the TNA World Title Match at No Surrender 2009. Styles vs. Shelley was an especially good match.

These two matches were followed by a great promo by Daniels and Somoa Joe. Daniels came out to confront Somoa Joe about his alliance with the Main Event Mafia. Daniels mentioned that they were once great friends. However, Joe turned his back on them and joined MEM. Daniels reminded Joe that MEM fears him and that when he was world champ, Joe beat every single one of them. Joe shook his head in agreement. So why join MEM? Daniels accused Joe of being a sell out and them proceeded to cross the line (no pun intended) by mentioning his wife and son. Joe snapped and took Daniels down with a Tazplex. Great promo and very entertaining.

I enjoyed the Knockout tag team match and I’m really glad that TNA has begun this tournament. We also got watch the talents of Hamada. Unfortunately, she wasn’t given the chance to advance in the tournament. Afterwards, Hamada attacked her partner, Sojo Belt. Great way to make friends Hamada!

We got robbed of a Hernandez vs. Sting match, because Eric Young decided to get involved. Young dressed as Homicide and attacked Sting. The referee saw what was happening ringside and disqualified Hernandez. Security got a hold of the man who was revealed to be Young. Hernandez was understandbly upset. He called out Eric Young. When Young came out, one of The British Invasion fella’s decided to sneak up on him. It became a numbers game in which the World’s Elite ganged up on Hernandez. AJ Styles ran in to help Hernandez, followed by Beer Money and Team 3D. For a while they were kicking the butt of the World’s Elite. The crowd was chanting, “Get the Tables!” Well they got the tables, but it didn’t work in their favor. MEM came out and started kicking some butt. Then they put Beer Money Inc. through some tables.

This was a great episode of TNA iMPACT! I was incredibly entertained. Well done TNA! Now….if only they could get their PPV events to be this good.

Notes: Christy Hemme returned to the iMPACT! zone with a match against Sojo Belt. It was a mediocre match and it wasn’t exactly a great way to kick off iMPACT!. However, it is good to see that Christy Hemme is back. Even though I am a straight woman, I do think that Christy Hemme is hot!

Hernandez defeated Doug Williams and was attacked right after his victory by Rob Terry. I have a few things to say about Rob Terry after studying him after a few weeks. Mr. Terry (yes, Mr. Terry) looks like someone inflated him with helium. I feel like sticking a pin in him and watching him deflate. I do think that he fits in with the whole look and personality of The British Invasion. The whole point is that they want to be strong and imposing group of men. It will be interesting to see Rob Terry in action on Sunday and I hope to see this rivalry between Hernandez and The British Invasion heat up.

Each week, I am growing very fond of Eric Young. I really enjoy watching his heel persona develop. He pinned Jesse Neal after he threw a punch at Sheik Abdul Bashir. It was unfortunate that Eric Young wasn’t given his own promo. I think it would have elevated the show and I really think that TNA should push him to main event status.

Rhino wasn’t too pleased with Jesse Neal’s performance in their match. So, he speared him out of anger. Afterwards, Rhino gave a passionate promo about how Jesse Neal spat on everything that he has fought for in his career. When Jesse Neal performed, apparently his best wasn’t enough. I’m not happy with how this story is going. I thought that Rhino and Jesse Neal were going to ride this mentor/student storyline for awhile. However, Rhino turned on Neal very quickly. I’m not sure if this is a tiff between the two or if this is a full on rivalry now. I guess that we’ll just have to see what happens next week.

Team 3D had a great promo with Scott Steiner & Booker T. Brother Ray hyped up the Steiner Brothers and Harlem Heat. He said that these tag teams were household names, but that garbage was a household name, as well. Brother Ray and Scott Steiner got into it. Steiner beat Brother Ray by putting him through a table. It was one of the most entertaining segments of the episode and I hope we get to see more of this rivalry. This is just heating up.

I couldn’t forget the promo with Mick Foley and Kevin Nash. They were in the middle of the ring for a contract signing. Foley told Nash that when he won the Legends title, he felt a sense of pride that he was able to show to his sons. He asked Nash if he ever felt any kind of pride in winning the Legends title? Nash replied that Mick cost him $26, 000 in cold hard cash without the Legends Title by his side during his Wizard World autograph signing. It was weird that they brought up Wizard World and Comic Con in the middle of a wrestling promo. Kevin Nash continued to stress that he doesn’t do anything for free and he took off his shirt to intimidate Mick. Of course, Mick wasn’t intimidated and through himself on the signing table just to show that he doesn’t mind doing anything for free. I love Mick Foley, but I don’t know what to make of this promo. I did not feel the heat between Nash and Foley. Instead, I got the feeling that it was really a business deal rather than heat between them.

Matt Morgan defeated AJ Styles, which disappointed me. I was hoping for AJ Styles to move into the main event at Hard Justice. However, I’m not complaining about the choice of Matt Morgan. He impressed me with the last promo of the night. Kurt Angle asked Matt Morgan one last favor before being inducted into The Main Event Mafia. Morgan would have to let Kurt Angle retain his title. Well, Morgan refused to say the least. He declared that he was going to be the next World Heavyweight Champion and there wasn’t Kurt Angle could do about that. It obviously put a chink into Angle’s plans in retaining his title. TNA ended with a good teaser for Hard Justice.

Notes: Tazz debuted on his first iMPACT! show and began talking about ECW. He basically said that Somoa Joe reminded him of a young version of himself in ECW. He came to Joe to become his teacher and take him to that next level. I enjoyed his promo and I am curious to see the dynamics of this Tazz/Joe relationship.

Another great promo was given by Mick Foley. Obviously, he is very talented on the mic and speaks with great intensity. Tonight was no different. He said that when he tapped out, he ran out of gas. However, there was a good ten minutes where Mick was kicking Kurt’s ass all over the iMPACT! zone. Kurt Angle insults Mick in many ways like comparing him to a dog and calling him “Old Tapper”. He suggest a match in which the keys to Mick’s office be held over the pole.

TNA iMPACT! ended on a high note with Bobby Lashley entering the iMPACT! zone. He came in as Mick Foley was being humiliated and it seemed that he was joining the MEM. It seemed that Lashley was about to hit Mick when the MEM where holding him up. Then he turned around to hit Kurt and then take down the rest of the MEM. The crowd went wild and it seemed that the fate of the TNA Originals have turned for the better.
